Welcome to Let’s Keep Writing! This book was born out of a desire to offer composition students an open educational resource (OER) textbook that goes beyond the basics of a first semester course. As such, this textbook works well for a second semester composition course, presenting concepts that help students develop their writing skills.

In essence, all thesis driven essays are arguments, and most of the essays students write in college-level courses are thesis driven. Thus, this text focuses on the skills needed to approach thesis-driven essays for different writing situations. Much thesis-driven writing also requires research, so the section of the book that focuses on research presents ways to effectively find and use borrowed information for these varied writing situations.
