Unit 6 — Researched Writing

One of the core aspects of academic pursuits is learning more and one of the main ways we do that is by researching. Searching out the answers to questions we have and learning more about concepts we get introduced to are foundational elements of learning. This is most effective when we are seeking answers to things we are interested in or exploring topics that feel important to us.

Writing about what you learn is one of the ways you demonstrate your knowledge and understanding, and it is one of the ways you can share what you have learned with others. This unit is designed to walk you through the research process from a place of inquiry. We begin with questions — with the things we do not know or the things we think we know but are not certain about. As we start finding the answers and conforming or refuting what we thought we knew, we can keep diving deeper.
