REVIEW CIRCUITS
Review circuits are fast-paced activities that allow students to review material in a fun and interactive manner. We suggest setting up the desks in a circle or creating stations throughout the room. At each station (or in a circle), students should be facing each other in groups of two. A set of questions and vocabulary words should be available in an envelope or container (we recommend using reusable, small plastic containers purchased at Michael’s Craft store (www.michaels.com). Be sure to include enough material for each pair to work together for a 10-minute period. After each 10-minute interval, the instructor will ask students to move to the next station. We suggest assigning students to an ‘A’ (or X, 1, etc) and ‘B’ (or Y, 2, etc) group: the ‘A’ group moves up from wherever they begin, while the ‘B’ group moves down. For example, if a student in Group A begins the activity at station 3, they would move to station 4 when the instructor indicates that the 10-minute interval is finished. If a student in Group B starts the exercise at station 3, they will move to station 2. If the instructor chooses to carry out the activity in a circle, the students on the outside move to the right, while the students on the inside stay in their seats. The envelopes or containers should move to the left to avoid repetition of material.
